The 2017 vintage has created an outstanding example of Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon. Its dark ruby colour and aromas of lifted dark berry fruits and minted highlights are all richly decorated in French oak and depict a style of finesse and grace.
The lower yielding vintage has created a full consistent palate and contains a delicious fusion of ripe blackberry and forest floor flavours. The well-ripened tannins are fine but highly concentrated and well-integrated with the structural tannin from the oak, suggesting a great vintage from the vineyard for aging potential. The finish has great depth and lingering flavours of minted dark chocolate. Cellar until 2030.
Frankie’s Folly is named after Lady Treatt (Frankie Wilson ’32), a generous donor to St Mary’s at Metricup: The Lady Treatt Centre for Learning and Leadership, the location of our vineyard.
